H2GO! Hydrogen Watercraft

Design and create a hydrogen-powered boat using unconventional materials.

Victoria is currently in the middle of a transition away from coal power generation towards renewable energy. The state government has set a target of 65% renewable energy by 2030. Hydrogen, which only emits water when it burns, is part of a clean energy future and, with a plant proposed locally, building students understanding of this technology has never been more important.

In this program students will ‘split’ water and use the hydrogen to produce clean electricity to power a motor.
